5 سنوات على جوائز النقاد العرب للفيلم الأوروبي

عن قائمة الأفلام المرشحة لجوائز النقاد العرب للأفلام الأوروبية في نسختها الخامسة. وتضم القائمة 25 فيلمًا من مختلف الدول الأوروبية سيجري التصويت عليها من قبل لجنة التحكيم المكونة من 85 ناقدًا من 15 دولة عربية يشاهدون الأفلام المرشحة للجائزة عبر الشريك الرقمي فيستيفال سكوب.

تشمل المرحلة الأولى من التصويت اختيار لجنة التحكيم قائمة قصيرة تضم أفضل 3 أفلام، ثم يجري التصويت مرة أخرى في المرحلة الثانية لاختيار الفيلم الفائز. نظرًا لتأجيل مهرجان القاهرة السينمائي الدولي الذي استضاف حفل توزيع الجوائز في السنوات الماضية، وذلك بسبب الوضع غير المستقر في الشرق الأوسط، سيجري إعادة النظر في مراسم الإعلان الرسمي عن الفيلم الفائز.

شهدت الأفلام المرشحة عروضها الأولى في عدد من المهرجانات السينمائية الدولية الرائدة وحصلت على جوائز مثل فيلم Omen من إخراج بالوجي (بلجيكا) والذي فاز بجائزة New Voice Prize في قسم نظرة ما بمهرجان كان السينمائي، وفيلم Lost Country )صربيا) من إخراج فلاديمير بيريسيتش الفائز بجائزة Louis Roederer Foundation Rising Star Award من مهرجان كان السينمائي وجائزة أفضل ممثل من مهرجان سراييفو السينمائي. أو فيلم الرسوم المتحركة الوحيد في القائمة Tony, Shelly And the Magic Light (سلوفاكيا) من إخراج فيليب بوسيفاك والفائز بجائزة Contrechamp Jury Award من مهرجان آنسي السينمائي. تم اختيار عدد من الأفلام المرشحة لتمثيل دولها رسميا في جائزة الأوسكار لأفضل فيلم دولي من بينها فيلم Traces إخراج دوبرافكا توريتش (كرواتيا)، وExcursion إخراج أونا جونجاك (البوسنة والهرسك)، وThe Taste of Things إخراج تران آن هونج (فرنسا)، وThe Teachers‘ Lounge إخراج إيلكر تشاتاك (ألمانيا)، وCitizen Saint إخراج تيناتين كاجريشفيلي (جورجيا)، The Last Ashes إخراج لويك تانسون (لوكسمبورج)، وSirin إخراج سيناد شاهمانوفيتش (مونتينيغرو)، وSweet Dreams إخراج إينا سينديجاريفيتش، وBad Living إخراج جواو كانيجو (البرتغال).

قالت سونيا هاينن المدير الإداري في European Film Promotion: “منذ انطلاق الجوائز في عام 2019، تضاعف عدد النقاد. إن نهجهم المتمرس ذو الخبرة في الأفلام الأوروبية المختارة يساعد كثيرا على الترويج للسينما الأوروبية في العالم العربي. وفي الوقت نفسه، فإن قرار لجنة التحكيم هو بمثابة ختم الجودة للموزعين ومبرمجي المهرجانات المقيمين في العالم العربي، والذي يمكن أن يساعد في ضمان أن تجد القصص المحلية من أوروبا جمهورًا خارج المنطقة”.

وقال علاء كركوتي وماهر دياب، الشريكان المؤسسان لمركز السينما العربية: “في نسختها الخامسة، تواصل جوائز النقاد العرب للفيلم الأوروبي سعيها لدعم صناعة السينما ومنح فرصة لحكي قصص إنسانية مؤثرة، وتسليط الضوء على مجموعة من أبرز وأهم النقاد العرب من خلال لجنة تحكيم تضم 85 ناقدًا من 15 دولة عربية أصبحت من الأسماء المعروفة على مستوى صناعة السينما الأوروبية.”

أطلقت EFP ومركز السينما العربية جوائز النقاد العرب للأفلام الأوروبية في عام 2019 وهي نسخة من جوائز النقاد التي أطلقها مركز السينما العربية لتعزيز التنوع السينمائي في المنطقة وجذب انتباه شركات التوزيع وصناع القرار في صناعة السينما العربية للأفلام الأوروبية المتميزة. هذا بالإضافة إلى تسليط الضوء على النقاد العرب البارزين ودورهم البارز في الكشف عن وجهات نظر مختلفة وفي تبادل الخصوصية الثقافية بين المجتمعات.

الأفلام الأربعة الفائزة بجائزة النقاد العرب للفيلم الأوروبي في السنوات السابقة هي God Exists, Her Name Is Petrunya إخراج تيونا ستروجار ميتيفسكا (2019)، وUndine إخراج كريستيان بيتزولد (2020)، و107 Mothers إخراج بيتر كيريكس (2021)، وEO إخراج جيرزي سكوليموفسكي (2022).

 

Five Years of Arab Critics’ Award for European Films

The Arab Critics’ Award, initiated by European Film Promotion and the Arab Film Center, is now in its fifth round. 85 of the most prominent and influential Arab film critics from 15 Arab-speaking countries are currently previewing the 25 nominated recent European films. In a first step they choose their 3 favourites for the shortlist and finally the winning film. As the Cairo International Film Festival as hitherto host of the award ceremony has been postponed indefinitely due to the unstable situation in the Middle East, the official announcement of the winning film will be re-considered.

All of the 25 films submitted by national film promotion institutes from throughout Europe (EFP‘s member organisations), have been premiered or screened at leading international film festivals, and received awards like Omen by Baloji from Belgium (New Voice Prize/Cannes Film Festival, Un certain regard), Lost Country by Vladimr Perisič from Serbia (Louis Roederer Foundation Rising Star Award/Cannes Film Festival; Best actor, Sarajevo Film Festival) or the only(?) animation film on the list from Slovak Republic, Tony, Shelly And the Magic Light by Filip Pošivač (Contrechamp Jury Award/Annecy Film Festival). A large number of the nominiated films were entered for the Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category, e.g. Traces by Dubravka Turić (Croatia), Excursion by Una Gunjak (Bosnia and Herzegovina), The Taste of Things by Trần Anh Hùng (France), The Teachers‘ Lounge by Ilker Çatak (Germany), Citizen Saint by Tinatin Kajrishvili (Georgia), The Last Ashes (by Loïc Tanson (Luxembourg), Sirin by Senad Šahmanović (Montenegro), Sweet Dreams by Ena Sendijarević and Bad Living by João Canijo (Portugal).

85 of the most prominent and influential Arab film critics from 15 Arab-speaking countries will first decide on their top three favourites before announcing the winning film in a setting to be announced.

„Since our launch in 2019, the number of critics has doubled. Their well-versed and experienced approach of the selected European films helps a lot to spread European cinema in the Arab world. At the same time, the jury’s verdict is a quality seal also for distributors and festival programmers based in the Arab world, which can help to ensure that local but universal stories from Europe find an audience outside in the region”, says EFP Managing Director Sonja Heinen.

The Arab Critics’ Awards for European Films was launched in 2019 by EFP and ACC. It is a spin-off from the ACC’s now well-established Critics’ Awards to boost film diversity in the region and raise the interest of sales companies and the industry for outstanding European films. This initiative also aims to cast a spotlight on the distinguished film critics from 15 Arab-speaking countries and their important role in opening up new perspectives and bridging cultural idiosyncrasies. The previous four winners were God Exists, Her Name Is Petrunya by Teona Strugar Mitevska (2019), Undine by Christian Petzold (2020), 107 Mothers by Peter Kerekes (2021) and EO by Jerzy Skolimowski (2022).
